Day 26 night: Wedding dinner

Everything was very rush. I only finished arranging the guest's seating 1 minute before my hair and makeup appointment. Of course there were a lot of complaints about the seating, but I really can't please everyone.

In the Chinese wedding, usually we have round table which can seat 10 people. This is the host seat, it usually seat the wedding couple, their parents and the most respectful relatives (grandparents, uncles...)

The menu for the night

The wedding cake: there was a big of accident, usually the first layer is the real cake and the rest is fake. But the hotel provided us all the fake one, so we had hardtime cutting it...

The guests started to arrive at 6.50pm eventhough in the invitation card it stated 7pm, but the first course was served at 8.30pm, a typical time wasting for Chinese wedding.

My respectful DJs covering Mandarin, English and French

The presentation for the first course signifying the beginning of the dinner

After several courses, we were on the stage for the cake cutting ceremony, the fake cake was hard

Champagne pouring

Everyone up on stage for the yamsheng

Yamsheng from table to table, total 33 tables, and I didn't tell Fabien that he didn't have to bottom up each time, actually the Malaysian drink cognac with ice and water...but he was too honest, luckily he has his "heng tai" (brothers/friends) to help him...

The dinner ended around 10.30pm, and Fabien thought that it was too short, so they extended the party in front of the house, and managed to visit a neighbore's bonsai garden, plus got invited to bah kut teh breakfast the second morning, plus an invitation to visit the neighbore's master's bonsai... if you know what drinking that brings you...

Overall the dinner finished well. However, some of the guests were disappointed about the fact that there was no karaoke (very popular in my hometown), and that it was too quiet (Chinese need a lot of sound for conviviality). I was upset that the hotel couldn't played my powerpoint presentations about our childhood, couple photos and introduction to France.

Day 25 night: The buffet dinner

In Malaysia, the day before the wedding, we have buffet dinner, the groom and bride have it separately, kind of like a bachelor party. I had it the same day of the wedding, during the night, bcos it was Chinese New Year and we couldn't find a caterer to it before.

The foods were pretty good, especially desserts. It has mini cakes, it pleased the French I guess since they had missing real dessert for sometimes. For the Malaysian, dessert is not that important, it usually finish with some fruits or some sweet soup.

The mutton was very popular and was finished before I had chance to taste it.

Day 25: The Wedding

20.2.07 is our wedding day in Malaysia. It was a sunny day.

Fabien is getting ready to go to my house.

He arrived at my house. My nephew opened the car door for him. In return he needs to give him an ang pao.

He is waiting outside with his supporters.

He is going upstair to get me with his friends.

I'm waiting inside the room for my prince charming to pick me up.

There are some barriers for him to pass through, with his friends' help.

My sister and nieces have created a chamber of toiture, this is one of the toiture for him: breads with wasabi and some unknown ingredients.

He's thinking hard on how to response to some of the questions posted to him, it's just too hard!

He wrongly answered one of the question and his friends have to suffer for him. haha

Negotiating...

His supporters got a bit upset...

No choice but have to take up the punishment: eating jelly that they hate the most...

He looks confident tough...

Impatient to see his bride, they push through...

And they won!

We finally got to see each other.

We are the stars of the day.

Tea ceremony for my family side.

Going to the groom's temporarily house.

His brother opened the car door and received angpao.

Tea ceremony for his family.

Photo shooting in the room with the guests. Due to privacy issue I'm relunctant to realise the photos with guests.

Tasting the sour, sweet, bitter and spicy, tastes that we will have to face in our marriage life.

See how hot is it for him? Poor groom.

Went photo shooting in a park. It was too hot that we didn't stay long.

It's in the tradition the groom throw the bride's veil to signify the beginning of their new life.

The wedding went smoothed, thanks to the helps from everybody who have contributed, attended and helped out in this wedding! Billion thanks to everyone!

The Wedding Car

Normally the wedding car decoration is included in the whole wedding package you get from the bridal shop. But since I bought the gowns instead of renting them, I didn't manage to get any packages. The car deco job was then assigned to the guys while the girls were doing their last minute shopping before the wedding.

Before

After

I think they did a good job. Their reward was...

Fresh sugar can that they won't get in France.

Miracle

Isn't it a miracle that I didn't fall down on these 6 inches shoes?

Wedding photos (studio)

Here's the results of our 5 hours suffering photo shooting session. We chosed more the traditional customes as I think you don't see them much in France.
