I hope this is for real and Aelig could automatically quality as a Malaysian soon. She will most likely need to choose between being a French or Malaysian when she reaches 18 years old as Malaysia doesn't recognise double citizenship. However, seeing how serious the brain drain phenomena Malaysia is facing, I wouldn't be surprise if one day the government starts granting double citizenship to overseas Malaysians.
I hope one day S'pore allow its citizen to hold double citizenship.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you. U can easily get it done including Passport via Malaysian embassy once the law has changed to make it possible. We did V's citizenship via S'pore embassy in Paris. However u need to get lots of things translated I think. For the birth certificate, u can just ask it from the government dept. It can be printed in multilanguage for free.
Hi there,
ReplyDeletejust want to know,if a french wishes to work in malaysia, any requirements for that?how's the process would be?would it be hassle?
Thanks.
Hi Cass Goh,
ReplyDeleteIf the French manages to find a job in Malaysia, his employer can apply for a work permit for him and it would be an easier process. If you want, I can direct you to someone who had been working in Malaysia.
Thanks
