Email from the lawyer

Here is the email from the lawyer. I was surprised that I couldn't find much information about them having the plastic surgery. The comments about this issue is obviously being controlled.

Hi,

My name is XXX.

I am representing the Bogdanoff brothers as a lawyer. My mission is
to control all sort of misbehavior on internet blogs.

The reason why I contact you today follows the publication of some
photographies and comments about the bogdanoffs on your website : http://www.malaysiafrance.com/2008/01/plastic-surgery-does-it-worth-it.html

1. The photographies you are publishing are not authorized and I am
asking you to suppress this material from your site (even if you
copied it from another unthorized website).

2. Your comments qualifying Bogdanoffs as "non human" is a direct
negative qualification of their physical look and as such should be
considered as a diffamatory comment.

For these two reasons I kindly insist that you suppress this material
from your blog.

Thank you very much for your attention and following prompt actions.

Best regards

XXX

¨PS. In order to authenticate this email I send it from the webdomain
of the Bogdanoffs.

  1. Hurm .. maybe it's ok if it's just the photos but if some comments were deleted I think it's quite harsh. I mean you see a lot of websites criticizing people but heck ... Speechless!

  2. BE,
My only experience is from a gold shop in H.K telling me I did not ask them for permission to use.
But every picture I use, I use picture courtesy of and I don't know why that particular shop in H.K so particular.
    Anyway, we live and learn.
Don't worry too much about it.
Too bad I did not see the photos.

  5. Hi Bee Ean, wow, somebody must have seen your that post and info them or they have a cookie tracer to see any unauthorised publications of their articles.
Most companies have tracking cookies installed in their sites.
Anyway, just pooped in to say 'hello'. Hope you doing well, best regards, UL.

  8. cibol,

Yeah lah, I agreed with you. So many people criticizing others openly and still they were not ordered to shut their mouth.

    Jamy,
Go search on internet and type in "frères Bogdanoff" and you will be able to see their photos before and after the surgey.

    alvin,
I think they used cookies to trace out blogs talking about these brothers. I wonder if I use the photo in my Chinese blog and don't mention about their names, they will still find me? :-)

    cookingninja,
Ah finally someone agrees with me. I couldn't look at them on TV.

    U.Lee,
How does this cookies thingy work? I didn't link to their site. The photos I took from a forum. How come they didn't ask the forum to remove the photos?

    cheerfulday,
I have to delete the photos and some post entries.

    keeyit,
He asked me to delete the email as well in this blog.

  11. I'm not sure whether this email is authentic or not. Even since I removed his name from the email he stops bordering me.

As of his English level, it is considered quite good for a French.

  12. I too wondered after reading the poor English in the letter.

Nevertheless, I would've left those damn comments up there. Sorry, but I'm sure that I would've done it. It didn't defame their character or professional ability. It simply stated an opinion about their aesthetic qualities.

Then again, you're married into France, so I'm assuming they can drag you into court quite easily for those comments...it's that way in France, I've noticed, regarding the media.
