French celery?

We got this from the farmer association we joined. We wasted one last time since we didn't know what was it. This time we decided to try it out and cooked pasta with it.

Verdict: It tastes like celery. Since I don't like celery I didn't like this either. At the end, the master of the house ate them all.

  1. Bee Ean, you can boil it and mash with some milk and buter and eat it like mashed potatoes.

  2. yes it is the root of a celery. You can grate them like grated carrot and mix it with salad dressing. Or you can cook them in soup with other vegetables.

  3. Salut to both chef, I will try this out next time we have it. Apparently the ground is frozen so we won't have anything next week from the farmer.

This vegetable is called celeriac. It is an expensive veg in UK and keeps for a long time if stored in a cool place.
