The lucky one

I met a girl who just joined the company. She is Algerian. She has to work as intern while the company applies for her the working visa.

I asked her how she got this job, and her reply was: The jobs found me. Basically, she updated her CV on Monster.fr, and companies just contacted her. She got several offers and just need to choose one. She said companies even went to her school for hiring as this sector is in high demand for man power.

How I wish I had her luck! On the other hand we don't have the same education background, so it is very hard to compare.

  1. BE,

How is work ? When are you finishing your internship ? Any 'real' job in the horizon ?
Sorry, I have been so busy lately.
I thought I have done with studies, boy I was wrong.

I have 12 weeks of orientation and self studies, man! the self studies and the exam involve is even more intensive than when I was in school :), the only difference is that the company pay for all the studies and all the makan makan.

Good to work as money started flowing through but bad part is to get up early :). I think I am too lazy to do a 'real work', might cut down my hr to 2 days next year :) than 3 days which I am doing now.

Hope you get the job you want soon.

  3. Jamy,

No luck for the job yet. Still in discussion with the company, but they found me to be not technical enough even though they said they are satisfied with my performance during the internship.

    casper,

We are both in the IT sector. The different is she is a programmer and I'm more in the business analyst line.

  5. BE,
Don't give up, keep trying and you will eventually find one.
My gf was laid off recently. She was pretty frustrated and depressed cos she sent out a lot of resumes and were on unemployment benefit for a while. But, she finally got a job in a very nice public accounting firm which is near by her home.
I am glad for her cos it can be very frustrating and emotional when one is laid off , esp with the present economy.
I called her almost everyday to boast her spirit :):). Sometimes we just rozak talk but it is ok then no one to talk to when you are unemployed :).

So, don't give up ! I will keep praying for your job hunting.
