Day 28: Gua Tempurung et Ipoh

We had many discussions about places that will interest the French, and Gua Tempurung (Coconut shell cave) is considered one of the exciting places to go. The plan was to have roti canai as breakfast and take away some more as lunch, due to the long journey (2h30min from Klang). As usual, people who were assigned tasks got tied up with their own responsibilities which lead to our late departure.

Along the way I was so worried that we won't be able to make it, as the cave closes at certain time, not letting visitors in to avoid flood problem inside the cave. When we arrived, we were not allowed to go in, but after many negotiations, talking directly to the guide, we were in.

One of the attraction point in this cave is that you will get drenched by passing through some tiny holes. We missed the 3 hours trip, so only managed to do the 1h30min tour, with a Malay guide explaining along the way.

After the cave, we continued our journey to Ipoh. This is one of the famous temple there.

Well, we are in Ipoh, there is no reason to miss the famous Ipoh bean sprouts chicken rice. I felt sorry for the French, we were eating at 5++ in the afternoon, they were not gotten used to the Malaysian timing of eating. We eat at our own convenience time, when there's food, there's space in our stomach.

We didn't do much on this day as the aller retour already taken around 6 hours.

  1. Yep - my husband can't understand me when I eat at all hours of the day as well. I remember this cave btw, went there when I was young! Keep posting those photos! I'm really enjoying your trip!

  2. I'm glad that you like those photos. I thought it's so boring to post things that are over for almost 2 months. But it's one way to remind myself about the good time in Malaysia. In fact I was waiting for photos from my friends as I don't have the complete photos to show for some events, but they are too busy so I decided to go ahead to post whatever I have.
